Big news this week at Agnelli Motor Park – Peugeot’s first ever fully electric car has arrived in our showroom!
The new e-208 is Peugeot’s first attempt at an electric car and we can tell you – it’s the way forward. It can be a difficult choice to “go electric” after so many years of driving petrol / diesel and people often feel they are going to have to compromise by changing over.
We can assure you – this car is without compromise! It is a stimulating and lively drive providing you with a multitude of new sensations:
You will also save money!
The Peugeot e-208 offers you new mobility too, including;
The Peugeot e-208 has so much to offer, with its distinctive design, technology and modernity.
The monogram ‘e’ and the dichroic Lion change colours from different angles; the chequered front grille is body-coloured; the wheel arches are gloss black; the aerodynamic aluminium wheels are 17” and the upholstery is refined leaving no compromise on space or technology for you or your passengers.
If you are a driver who likes to access information on your driving, the configurable 3-D head-up digital instrument panel will do that and more! It can also project, like a hologram, via the capacitive colour touchscreen. The display informs you of;
The e-208’s immediate reactivity offers a serene driving experience (136hp and torque of 260 Nm available from 0mph)
The high-performance battery was developed to incorporate a high-voltage battery with a large capacity of 50kWh while preserving space on board and boot volume. The electric car battery comes with an 8 year warranty or 100,000 miles for 70% of its charge capacity.
There are 3 types of charge points installed by ESB ecars nationwide: home charge points, public charge points and fast charge points.
Home Charge Points
Your domestic electricity supply will facilitate charging your electric car with a home charge point usually installed on the external wall of the house. A full charge from 0% will take between 6 and 8 hours. (A cable will be supplied as standard with your vehicle.) It’s also faster to charge than a domestic plug.
Public Charge Points
Public charge points are now being installed on-street and in locations such as petrol stations and car parks, connected to a local 3-phase electricity supply and, depending on the car, charging takes between 1 and 6 hours.
Charge Point Standards
Ireland has recently decided to standardise home and public charging points with Mode 3 charging using an IEC Type 2 socket, (commonly known as the ‘Mennekes socket’) which is a 7 pin socket. Mode 3 charging has additional safety features and will, eventually, be deployed in all European countries. It is internationally accepted as the safest charging method. It is compatible with Peugeots electric cars and is being rolled out across Ireland.
Fast Charge Points
Fast charge points deliver higher power to electric cars which results in reduced charging time. These charging points are mainly installed along motorways to facilitate nationwide electric car travel. Charging up to 80% can be achieved in just 20-30 minutes on a suitable electric car.
